Roster Moves
The Chicago Sky have made several roster moves during the offseason, including the signing of free agent forward/center Astou Ndour and the re-signing of guard Diamond DeShields. The Sky also traded forward Cheyenne Parker to the Las Vegas Aces in exchange for a 2024 first-round draft pick.
Draft Picks
The Sky selected South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft. Cardoso is a 6'7" center who averaged 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in her final season with the Gamecocks.
Schedule
The Sky will open their 2023 season on May 19 at home against the Dallas Wings. They will play a total of 36 regular season games, with 18 home games and 18 road games. The Sky will also participate in the Commissioner's Cup, a mid-season tournament that will feature the top eight teams in the league.
Outlook
The Sky are looking to build on their success from the 2022 season, when they won their first WNBA championship in franchise history. They have a young and talented roster, led by All-Stars Candace Parker and Kahleah Copper. The Sky are also expected to be competitive in the Commissioner's Cup, which they won in 2021.
