Zoe Ball's ex-husband Fatboy Slim praises BBC amid concerns around her absence
Radio 2 Breakfast Show host has been off air for two weeks
Zoe Ball's ex-husband Fatboy Slim has praised the BBC, amid concerns around her absence from her Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
The DJ, real name Norman Cook, took to Twitter to express his support for the broadcaster, after it was revealed that Ball had been off air for two weeks due to ill health.
'The BBC is a great organisation'
Cook tweeted: "The BBC is a great organisation and they're doing a great job. Zoe is a great broadcaster and she's doing a great job. I'm sure she'll be back on air soon."
Ball has not been on air since March 10, and the BBC has not yet announced when she will return.
'We miss you, Zoe'
Fans have been expressing their concern for Ball on social media, with many calling for her to return to the show as soon as possible.
One fan tweeted: "We miss you, Zoe! Get well soon and come back to us soon."
Another fan tweeted: "Zoe is the best breakfast show host on radio. The show just isn't the same without her."
'She's a true professional'
Cook's praise for the BBC comes at a time when the broadcaster is facing criticism from some quarters.
However, Cook said that he believes the BBC is "a great organisation" and that Ball is "a great broadcaster".
He added: "She's a true professional and I'm sure she'll be back on air soon."
